When a person takes on a Persian for a pet they should understand that they will need to be committed to a daily grooming routine. The fur must be brushed and combed each day to ensure the coat does not become matted. They are a very popular breed and prized for their luxurious long coat. They have a sweet personality and facial expression.

It is a medium to large cat with a broad stocky body, short in length. The ears are small, round tipped and set low on the head. The nose is short and broad with a definite stop. The eyes are large, round and set wide apart.

Personalities can differ but are known as the quietest and least active breed. They are relaxed observers and are often referred to as “lounge lizards”. They make lovely indoor companions. Todays Persians have lost the ability to hunt and fend for themselves.
